Approaches and Supported Concerns

AdultS Only

Everyone struggles sometimes. Life can be tough; no one should have to navigate it alone. We all deserve the dignity and respect of being seen and heard. I hold space for my clients by sharing tools and strategies that create positive change in their lives. I am deeply empathetic and take a dynamic approach to supporting clients in accomplishing their goals. I see your strengths and want to help you feel empowered to overcome your challenges. Rather than defining my client’s goals for them, I guide them through a process to clarify what’s most important for them in their life. Do you have difficulty setting and achieving goals? Do you feel stuck in your current situation? I want to help you resolve these challenges. In life, there is rarely only one solution to a problem, and often, we are presented with different alternatives. Through our work together, we will co-create goals that support positive change. You are the expert in your life; my job is to listen, plan activities to help you learn new things about yourself, and support you in revealing the best path forward for you in your life.

Astrid Woodard is a provisional psychologist with Level Up Leadership Consulting & Psychology. She holds a Master’s of Counselling from City U in Seattle. As a therapist, Astrid uses a Solution-Focused, person-centred approach underpinned by anti-oppressive Systems and Existential philosophies. Astrid supports folks experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, loss and grief, interpersonal conflict, and relationship challenges. She strives to help move clients toward positive change by exploring strengths, challenges, life satisfaction, well-being, gratitude, self-compassion, self-esteem, values, beliefs, purpose, meaning and hope to elevate the client’s individual and interpersonal connections. Astrid is experienced in supporting individuals facing career flux, life transitions, and academic and leadership challenges. She provides evidence-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed care in therapy sessions for couples and adults of all genders.

Astrid has a passion for supporting individuals with leadership and career challenges. In addition to her counseling credentials, she holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, blending Leadership with Learning and Technology and Professional Communications from Royal Roads University. Her desire to diversify her skills and grow her competencies to treat folks experiencing mental health challenges evolved from the stories shared by her incredible clients through years of business. As an organizational development coach with 25 years of experience building businesses, fostering innovation, coaching, mentoring, and building connections, her growth mindset supports novel, creative collaboration and a solution-focused approach. In addition to her training as a therapist, these competencies support individuals addressing workplace and leadership challenges, toxic work cultures, burnout, interpersonal challenges and change. Astrid applies a systems lens to the evaluation of organizational problems and to selecting the most appropriate interventions to resolve challenges. Using an anti-oppressive systems lens can reframe work/life challenges and offer solutions to finding sustainable balance, harmony, satisfaction and growth in your life and career.
