Dr. Melody is a seasoned clinical/counselling psychologist, with over two decades of experience helping people, as well as the brains behind Level Up Wellness Group. She boasts a pair of master’s degrees, including an executive MBA earned in 2013, as well as her Ph.D., earned in 2022, which centered on exploring the underrepresentation of women in top medical roles.  Dr. Melody offers specialized assessments and diagnostic methods that are unique to her practice.

Think of a clinical psychologist as a problem-solver for your mind. Just like you’d go to a doctor for a physical ailment, you’d see a clinical psychologist for difficulties related to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We can’t prescribe medication like a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner can, we offer valuable tools and strategies to help you manage and improve your mental well-being.

 Here’s what I offer:

  1. Assessment: Clinical psychologists use various methods to understand what a person is experiencing. This can include interviews, observation, and standardized tests.
  2. Diagnosis: Based on my assessments, they can diagnose a range of mental health disorders—from anxiety and depression to more severe conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
  3. Treatment: Dr. Melody also offers treatment through a variety of psychotherapy methods (also known as “talk therapy” or just “therapy”). Alongside our medical team, if medication is needed, I work with our nurse practitioner and medical team to support you. This allows for a wrap-around service to be provided.

In 2013, she pivoted her career towards organizational psychology, offering coaching and guidance to executives, especially in the realms of organizational change, leadership, and the engagement of employees and physicians. Dr. Melody has also taught and delivered training programs aimed at enhancing leadership skills at all levels of an organization, team dynamics, and mental health topics. She prides herself on diagnosing and addressing the root issues rather than offering quick fixes.

Her goal is to meet the distinct needs of individuals, teams, and organizations through approaches that are grounded in solid research and best practices. She also believes in innovation and is an out-of-the-box thinker.Dr. Melody adopts a comprehensive approach in her practice, aiming to connect you with the right resources and strategies that address your individual, family and child’s unique needs. She takes into consideration medical, physical, nutritional, emotional, and psychological aspects to offer tailored solutions that best suit your situation.

Dr. Melody is particularly passionate about women in leadership roles, organizational behavior, and mental health. She also advocates for raising awareness about children’s mental health issues, a subject she is intimately familiar with. Her own daughter was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, separation anxiety, and generalized anxiety disorder at the young age of 4. She eventually learned through research and hard work, that her daughter had PANDAS/PANS. This personal experience, combined with her professional background, fuels her commitment to support families and all age groups of individuals who experience OCD, anxiety and PANAS/PANS. Sometimes you will see her daughter attending workshops presenting with her in the community.

Dr. Melody is deeply committed to the accurate diagnosis and treatment of anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. Her training has been under some of the most respected experts in the United States. She values continuous education and annually participates in advanced training programs abroad. Dr. Melody holds a certification from the Behavioral Therapy Institute for OCD, has attended specialized conferences on autism and OCD, and received extensive training from Dr. Eli Lebowitz of the Yale Child Study Center and Dr. Reid Wilson. Her dedication extends to educating other professionals, emphasizing the distinctions between anxiety, OCD, and conditions like PANDAS/PANS.
